Imagine Nassau is a unique blend of both—bridging the gap between public service and non-profit support to enhance the well-being of Nassau County residents, animals, and the environment.
A County-Led Non-Profit with a Purpose
Unlike traditional non-profits, Imagine Nassau is a county-led 501(c)(3) organization that works directly with Nassau County government agencies to strengthen public services. Our mission is to provide funding and operational support for Animal Services, Fire Rescue, Parks & Recreation, and the Conservation Land Acquisition Management (CLAM) program. This structure allows us to ensure that donations and funding go directly to improving these essential services without duplicating efforts or creating unnecessary overhead.
How We Help Without Replacing Essential Services
One of the biggest misconceptions about Imagine Nassau is that we will take over the responsibilities of Animal Services, Fire Rescue, Parks & Recreation, or CLAM. In reality, all of these organizations continue to provide their essential services as they always have. Our role is to offer additional funding and resources that help them operate more effectively, alleviating the taxpayer burden while improving service delivery.
100% of Donations Go Directly to Public Services
Unlike many non-profits, Imagine Nassau benefits from Nassau County’s operational support. The county covers our administrative costs, including staff salaries and essential services. This means that 100% of every dollar donated goes directly to the specific program area chosen by the donor—or to a general fund that is distributed where it’s needed most.
